BSEARS

Welcome to the Bury St Edmunds Amateur Radio Society

Established  for over 40 years, BSEARS has had a strong connection with Bury St Edmunds and with Amateur Radio. Previous club shacks have been at the Guildhall Hall Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk College and Culford School.

Today, the club meets at the Rougham Tower Museum, the former home of the 94 Bomber Group.

Who we are and what we do

We are an evolving  club with members of all ages. We are affiliated to the RSGB and welcome radio enthusiasts of all ages and  abilities with or without a current amateur radio licence.

Although we do not offer formal training, we have members with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in all aspects of radio who can offer supportive learning to supplement the amateur licence syllabus.

Club Radios

We have radios for HF, VHF and UHF at our club shack along with end fed and vertical antennas.

Club Meetings

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Rougham Tower Museum from 19:00hrs onwards.

We aim to cater for all interests of radio using our main club callsigns G2TO and G6BSE to take part in a variety of special events such as 145 Alive, JOTA (Jamboree on the air) and CHOTA (Churches and Chapels on the air).
